Creating a healthy tomorrow today

As the holiday season approaches, many of us are taking stock and looking for a way to give back to those who are less fortunate. One of the silver linings of the COVID-19 pandemic is that Nova Scotians have a renewed appreciation for the simple yet meaningful things in life – things like getting out for a walk, connecting with others and finding ways to support those in need.

This holiday season, we ask that you consider donating to the Healthy Tomorrow Foundation. We have one purpose: to create a healthy, happy tomorrow for all Nova Scotians, through movement. Our programing inspires Nova Scotians of all ages to experience the many benefits that movement can provide, including a better mood, more energy and a fun, easy way to spend time with loved ones.

Nova Scotians were already less active than most other Canadians, and the pandemic didn’t help. Sedentary time contributes to the increase of lifestyle-related diseases, which affect the quality and length of our lives. It also puts a strain on our struggling health-care system.

This is where the Healthy Tomorrow Foundation comes in.

We want to create a cultural shift where movement is part of Nova Scotians’ daily lives. We believe movement should be accessible, inclusive and, most importantly, fun. We started with Kids Run Club, which has been helping kids build healthy habits to last a lifetime for 18 years. Our newest campaign, Make Your Move, encourages Nova Scotians of all ages to move more every day, because we know that making small changes can have a ripple effect.

We want to continue making a positive impact on Nova Scotians’ physical and mental health. We have more innovative work launching in 2022 – but we can’t do it alone.

We need you, our community of supporters, to invest in a healthy and happy tomorrow for all Nova Scotians. Please consider supporting the Healthy Tomorrow Foundation today. Together, we can make an impact.

Have a safe and joyful holiday season.
