About the program

Kids Run Club (KRC) is a free, school-based recreational running program designed to give children and youth an opportunity to embrace active, healthy living. 

The goal of KRC is to give children and youth a chance to see how good they feel being active and to develop healthy habits for life. The best part about KRC is that it can be adapted for kids of all ages and abilities. Whether they are already experienced runners, want to learn to run or choose to take part by walking or wheeling, the goal is for them to have fun!

Our solution to helping inspire children to be healthier and more active doesn’t include fancy apps, expensive technologies or groundbreaking ideas. We focus on things that have been a part of childhood since the beginning of time: running, playing games, belonging, storytelling, learning and having fun.

The Healthy Tomorrow Foundation (HTF) is committed to helping Nova Scotians experience the powerful benefits of movement. Building on the success of our Girls-only Kids Run Club, Let’s Move is a new program that will offer all youth a welcoming, recreational atmosphere where they can experience the benefits of movement, connect with peers and have fun.

Each Let’s Move program will offer participants the opportunity to experience a variety of activities and help them discover new ways of being active. The goal is to help build a passion for movement that will stay with them into adulthood. Click here to learn more about the program.
